Liana Aghajanian October 12, 2006

At postsecret.blogspot.com, homemade secrets written on postcards find themselves in Frank Warren's mailbox, sometimes totaling 1,000 each week before he selects and posts them on Sundays for the world to reminisce, relate, or sometimes become amazed or angry.

New film, same old Truman Capote

Liana Aghajanian October 4, 2006
At first glance upon seeing the trailer for "Infamous" or reading its plot outline, one might wonder why another film about writer Truman Capote was made and released exactly one year after Philip Seymour Hoffman took home the Oscar for "Capote." You might ask why do the same thing twice when it has already been done so powerfully with stunning performances from a well-rounded cast? Interestingly enough, director Douglas McGrath, who is known for writing and directing "Emma" and "Nicholas Nickleby," and then "Capote"director began filming both their projects within a couple months of each other, but because "Capote" had gotten a head start, Warner delayed the release of "Infamous" so the two films would not coincide.

Liana Aghajanian September 21, 2006
In dreams, emotions are overwhelming. Intense desires, terrifying nightmares and hidden realizations masked under heavy eyelids use the mind as their playground, battling against each other in full fledged war until consciousness snaps you back into stagnant reality.

Chuck Taylors: an all star since 1917

Liana Aghajanian September 14, 2006
Kurt Cobain wore them. So did Snoop Dogg. Even Marty McFly donned a pair when he went back to the future. Chances are, at some point, you've worn them too, and if not, you've known someone who has. With its sleek classic black canvas exterior, stark white soles and ever-recognizable star logo, the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star, as it is more formally known, is perhaps the best-selling shoe of all time and for good reason.

Tighter airport security annoys during wartime

Liana Aghajanian September 11, 2006
The minute you step foot in an airport, you become a number. Line up here, stand over there, check in your bags, do not go beyond this point. Without anymore interference than normal, the chaotic world of an airport is enough to drive even the most patient flyer up the wall.
