In "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," the new installment from Judd Apatow, John Segel plays Peter, a composer, who provides backup music and sound effects for a ludicrous over the top forensic drama, "Crime Scene," that resembles CSI with William Baldwin offering nonsense one-liners.

The CSUN women's water polo team saved its best for last, pulling off two upsets in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament over the weekend at the Aztec Aquaplex on the campus of San Diego State University. After losing their first game to Arizona State University 10-8 on Friday, the Matadors beat Long Beach State 8-7 on Saturday and UC Irvine 7-6 on Sunday.

Conflicting details exist for gunmen incident

What caused gunmen to initially chase students at the CSUN dorms during March remains in question because there are conflicting details of the incident, two of which are given by the CSUN Police. Campus officials and Christina Villalobos, assistant to the chief of police, said that it was a disagreement between two groups of people that resulted in the display of a "firearm" and ended in "housing.

Proposed campus quality fee will be determined by alternative consulation

A recent proposal by the Senate Executive Committee to increase student fees to cover the expenses of a variety of student resources will be determined by CSUN President Jolene Koester before the end of the semester. The Campus Quality Fee Proposal advocates for an increase in student fees by $100 per student, over a period of the next three years, which will amount to a total of over $7 million.

Emergency alert system failed during alleged gunmen incident

A message system implemented to alert the campus community in the event of an emergency failed to do so in March when alleged gunmen chased two students at the CSUN dorms. Connect-Ed is the broadcast system being using to send out campus-wide alerts simultaneously to phone numbers and e-mail addresses of all students, faculty and staff on file.

Public department safety passes accreditation process

A team comprised of national law enforcement assessors is going to recommend that the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators accredit the CSUN Department of Public Safety. Three representatives from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies arrived on campus April 6 to review the police department's policies.
