Women’s soccer away

The womens soccer team (6-1-0) will look to set a school-record for consecutive wins, traveling north to play Sacramento State (2-3-1) and San Francisco (1-7-0), Sept. 23 and 25. The team needs two more wins to break last season’s six-straight-win record.

The Hornets are coming off a scoreless tie against Mississippi State back on Sept. 11. Last season the Matadors beat the Hornets 2-0 and have a 5-2-1 record overall.

The Matadors will then square off against the Dons who have lost five straight games. Although the Matadors have an overall losing record (1-2-0) against the Dons, CSUN won the last meeting at home 3-0.

The Matadors have already scored an impressive 22 goals this season, just nine shy of the school record 31, set in 1995.

Senior Brianna Monka leads the team with four goals and 10 assists.
