Mixed thoughts on whether funds were being dispersed fairly were expressed at the Associated Students (A.S.) meeting on Tuesday as senators debated whether or not Matador TV should be funded to raise awareness of student government.
San Fernando Superior Court Judge Sanjay Kumar ruled that CSUN students Jeffrey Braswell and Deon Tresvant’s felony charges would not be reduced to misdemeanors.
After lawyers presented arguments to decrease their charges, the two hung their heads as the judge denied the motion.

‘School spirit’ and ‘pride’ were echoed constantly during the debate at the Plaza del Sol. For these candidates, the need for more school spirit amongst their contingency was one of the priorities they set out to achieve while disagreeing on everything else.
Looks like teachers will be students again. Yesterday, Congressman Brad Sherman announced that Congress has approved $570,000 in federal appropriations funding for two programs in California.
One program will train teaching professionals in new techniques and the other will introduce children to the performing arts.
The funding is included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2009, which passed the Senate yesterday and has since been signed by President Obama into law, said Matthew Farrato, communications director and senior advisor for Congressman Sherman.
With the sun glaring down on them the candidates for upper division senator discussed preparing future graduates, retaining students who aren’t meeting GPA requirements, and their own qualifications.
A bit of role reversal was going on Tuesday as the No. 2 Matadors swept past New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT)3-0 in the first of three non-conference opponents for CSUN at the Matadome this week.
