Matadors enroute to Kansas City … almost

It’s been two hours since the Matadors men’s basketball team took off on a bus to Bob Hope Airport, but they’re still waiting inside their charter plane to leave California towards their NCAA Tournament first round destination: Kansas City, Mo. No problems. They’re only waiting on everyone to get checked in by security. Pretty soon they’ll be as high as their hopes to upset No. 2 Memphis.

CSUN, winner of 15 of last 18, goes undefeated in San Diego Classic II

The Cal State Northridge softball team went a perfect 5-0 at the San Diego Classic II last weekend. The Matadors looked impressive against some tough competition and were the only team to go undefeated in the tournament. CSUN is red hot, going 15-3 over its last 18 games. The main reason for the Matadors success of late is the pitching of their ace, Debbie Duran. For the season, Duran has a record of 13-5 with an ERA of 1.55. Duran also went 5-0 in San Diego with an 0.93 ERA and a .160 batting average for the opposition.’ ‘ ‘
