Winning streak comes to sweeping end

The Cal State Northridge softball team (23-12, 3-3) was swept at Long Beach State (24-14, 5-1) over the weekend, bringing an 11-game winning streak to an abrupt end. The Matadors hadn’t lost since March 10, when they were defeated 10-1 by Texas.

Still winless on the road

Things didn’t go well for the Matadors baseball team (13-17, 2-4 Big West) over the weekend as poor pitching cost them three conference games on the road to Cal Poly (21-7, 3-3).

Succesful last home cooking

It was a hard-fought night, but the Trojans couldn’t match the fury of the Matadors men’s volleyball team’ (21-5, 14-5 MPSF) on Friday night. Northridge, playing in its final home game of the regular season, knocked down USC in four sets, winning 3-1 (30-27, 30-28, 29-31 and 30-21).

Expert hazing prosecutor addresses Greeks

Fraternities and sororities welcomed speaker David Westol to the campus to address the problem of hazing in the Greek system. CSUN is a no-hazing campus and the Greek council opposes it as well.

Making the grade

The grades are in and Lambda Chi Alpha received the highest GPA in the Interfraternity Council (IFC). This could not have come at a better time for the organization, as they will celebrate their centennial on Nov. 2, 2009.

There are numerous places around CSUN to get Mexican food. There are taco trucks scattered around the various streets surrounding campus, Del Tacos down either side of Reseda Boulevard, students can even get tacos at Jack in the Box.

Matadors tame Rebels

In a two-game series, 12 Matador pitchers took the mound on Tuesday and Wednesday as the CSUN baseball team swept the UNLV Rebels (13-15) in non-conference play.
