Arts, media grads talk future

Finding a job right out of college is not the sure thing it used to be as budget cuts and layoffs plague all divisions of labor. Some arts and media majors have panned ahead and prepared themselves with jobs and internships after graduation to help them get their foot in the door, though even work experience won't necessary guarantee a job.

Campus protests budget cuts and potential fee increase

A protest Wednesday afternoon, addressed Sacramento's decisions to implement budget cuts in the California State University system. This comes as Charles Reed, chancellor of the CSU system is planning to ask the Board of Trustees to approve a 10 percent increase in student fees.

Mass communication graduate student receives first Academic Freedom Award

Esha Momeni, a mass communications graduate student who was held in confinement in Iran last fall for 25 days while working on research for the women's movement, received the first Academic Freedom Award Tuesday night almost seven months after she was apprehended.
