A new policy on repeat enrollments will restrict students from repeating the same course multiple times. Effective Aug. 1, 2009, “a maximum of 16 semester units in which a student earned less than a C grade are eligible for grade forgiveness and may be repeated for the purpose of excluding grades from the computation of student’s overall GPA,” according to the Undergraduate Policy on Repeating Courses at California State University, Northridge. CSUN Inked is an exhibit that will open in the Art Gallery on June 29, 2009. It’s curated by students but the idea for the show came from Dr. Peri Klemm. According to Leah Gudiel, graphic design student, Klemm wanted to compare both modern day tattoos to tattoos from earlier times, but the exhibit focuses on the modern art of tattooing and all of the images are of modern day tattoos. “When we interviewed student we did ask if they… Read more
Interview with student emmy winner Nicole Taubman, 24, recently won first place in the music video category at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Foundation’s 30th College Television Awards for her piece featuring the band Mechanical Hands Electric Heart, which she produced.The video was chosen from more than 700 entries. The CSUN athletic program will look to build on the success of the 2008-09 school year, when the Matadors entered the national spotlight. Most notably, the Men’s Basketball team gained national exposure by winning the Big West Conference Tournament and becoming eligible for the NCAA Tournament. Family Trees art exhibit showcased more than 75 pieces created by survivors of domestic violence at California State University, Northridge’s West Gallery.
