New transit subsidy program

The Associated Students (A.S.) internal affairs reported on a new program that was introduced July, 2009 that offered a subsidy on 10-day and monthly public transit passes. This program gives $20 for each student using MTA, AVTA, and Metrolink services. The internal affairs committee sent out a survey of nine questions, which asked about 30 students who use the program how they heard about it and what they found most positive and other related information. No. 10 CSUN extends win streak to eight

Matador baseball takes two from Lions

After their upset win over No. 11 East Carolina on Wednesday, the Matadors (8-6) were looking to end a five-game losing streak to Loyola Marymount (4-10) that dated back to the 2007 season. The Matadors put an end to their losing streak against the Lions with a 12-5 victory on Friday at Page Stadium. Students, candidate no-show at A.S. debate

The first round of Meet the Candidates debates was held on Monday to introduce the at-large senator contenders as candidates spoke of student participation and input to a barren audience. CSUN alumni receive award for student film

Two CSUN graduates received honorable mention from the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) for Directors of Photography in the student film project, “The Sounds of Silence.” Ryan Carmody, 23, and Masaki Imai, 28, who graduated last May said they were glad to be the first honorees from CSUN. The Gender and Women’s Studies’ Student Association (GWSSA) sponsored a lecture by Linda Sax entitled “The Gender Gap in College: Findings from a National Study and Implications for Campus Practice” on Monday, March 15 in the Flintridge room in the University Student Union.
