Track and Field

The CSUN women’s and men’s track and field teams reached the conference standard in six events at Cal State Los Angeles’ Tiny Lister Classic after having three women and three men post times or marks good enough to qualify for the Big West Championships. In the 200 meters, both Sierra Brooks and Jasmine Cox finished in the top-six and posted conference-qualifying times. Brooks ran a time of 24.66 seconds and Cox ran at 25.05. Shane Mullany-Banks ran a season-best 57.34 in the 400 meters.

On the men’s side, Thomas Henry ran just under the conference standard with a 10.86 in the 100 meters and Khalid Jones also posted a qualifying time of 21.92 in the 200 meters while Itua Oiyemhonian was Northridge’s final qualifier after posting a career-best height of six feet and six inches (1.98) in the high jump.
