Braswell candidate for head coach position

According to a blog posted by ESPN’s Andy Katz, Cal State-Northridge’s Bobby Braswell is a potential candidate for the vacant USC men’s basketball head coach position.  Braswell is being mentioned following a remarkable run that ended with a near upset of no.2 seed Memphis, in the NCAA Tournament. “I was not aware that he was being considered as a candidate for this position, but I am not surprised,” said CSUN’s Assistant Athletic Director Bob Vazquez.  “He is a great coach… Read more

CSUN athletics looks to improve during the new year

The CSUN athletic program will look to build on the success of the 2008-09 school year, when the Matadors entered the national spotlight. Most notably, the Men’s Basketball team gained national exposure by winning the Big West Conference Tournament and becoming eligible for the NCAA Tournament.  The team played in front of a nationally televised audience when they almost upset the no. 2 ranked Memphis Tigers. Men’s volleyball continuing hard work during off season

Just because the CSUN volleyball season officially ended last month does not mean that the players are taking it easy. Opposite hitter and fourth year player, Theo Edwards, works out four times a week at the student-athlete gym facility on campus. Valley Performing Arts Center, set to open in 2010, has developed community interest

For anyone who has been on Nordhoff Street recently, it would be impossible not to notice the towering construction site that is the future home of the Valley Performing Arts Center. Joining in on the contagious buzz are local marketing agencies, CSUN athletic coaches and potential investors.  They are learning the potential of the building, as they participate on hardhat tours of the construction site.
