CSUN hosts conference that discusses the future of California’s public education amidst budget cuts

Students demanded a question and answer session with CSU Chancellor Charles Reed in an event held at CSUN. Fight ends USU Matador Nights early

A fight at Matador Nights at about 12:20 a.m., April 23, brought the festivities to an early end. Two unidentified male suspects were apprehended by police. One was knocked unconcious for about 10 minutes before he revived. CSUN police has told festival goers to evacuate. Vas Defrans rocks CSUN

Wailing guitars and soaring vocals filled the University Student Union Thursday at noon when local progressive rock band Vas Defrans played USU’s Plaza del Sol. The show was part of the USU’s Noontime Concerts series, in which local musicians showcase their music. “I think it will definitely just get us more of a fan base,” said lead singer Vincent Coleman. “It will give us an opportunity to connect to more people.” The gig drew about 10 to 15 onlookers.

Underwood Family Farms offers sustainable produce to CSUN community

Monday mornings start bright and early for Robbie Denny, but she doesn’t have to combat early morning traffic. What she deals with is the slight chill in the morning air and the repeated calls of the rooster as she prepares her produce stand at Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark. Sustainability and travel intersect in CSUN student’s radio show

Every Friday evening, Lauren Lunstrum anchors a radio show that she streams live from her studio apartment in Northridge. She uses a website called blogtalkradio.com. Hybrid automobiles differ in the details

Whether it’s for the environmentally conscious or those wishing to save gas money, most owners of hybrid cars are excited and confident of their purchase. CSUN sells its used electronics and recycles obsolete devices

Senior Robert Stokes, 25, computer science major, fixes computers as a side business and said he comes across old computers all the time.  While he uses some of the parts, he throws away the rest. Stokes said  there are places that recycle old electronic products, but he doesn’t always use them. “Sometimes I throw them away… and I feel really guilty for a while,” he said.
