“Fate” Opens to Enthralled Audiences

Fate of a Cockroach”, Tawfiq Al-Hakim’s dark satire directed by Ken Sawyer, opened this past weekend to what was, no doubt, a warm reception. The title of the play arouses many questions. Dwelling on the fate of a cockroach seems a trivial and unnecessary task. Why on earth would such a meager organism be worthy of thought–or much less a play?
