Zenash Shifferaw, a 21-year-old public relations major, is treasurer and an active member of hip-hop dance team, Black Reign. The group became a part of Shifferaw’s life four years ago when she joined her freshman year after being blown away by a performance.
Dancing has always been a part of Shifferaw’s life and Black Reign just fell into place. It became ‘school, Black Reign, school, Black Reign,’ she said.
Black Reign dedicates time to practice Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 p.m. to midnight. Additional practices are necessary for a big performance such as this past Annual Talent Showcase on Oct. 30, 2008. They strive to live up to their motto, ‘We don’t dance’hellip; we entertain.’ After winning the award for best dance performance in the talent showcase, it seems they do.
