No. 3 Cal State Northridge holds a 43-28 halftime advantage over No. 6 Cal State Fullerton in the quarterfinals of the Big West Tournament at the Honda Center. The Matadors jumped out to a 14-2 lead and when up by as much as 18 points.
Matador Lenny Daniel led all scorers with 13 points and Vinnie McGhee chipped in 11 points. Jer’Vaughn Johnson scored seven points for the Titans. CSUN went 13 of 27 from the field (48.1 percent).
The winner of the CSUN-CSUF game will face UC Santa Barbara in the semifinals tomorrow night. Long Beach State versus UC Riverside, who got the upset win over No. 2 Cal Poly, is the other semifinal game.
