If the Matadors ever had to go back to the Big Sky Conference, they shouldn’t mind it too much, seeing how they have gone 3-0 against opponents from that conference in the early part of the season.
The Cal State Northridge women’s volleyball team (5-3) got off to a good start in the UNLV Invitational by winning its first match of the weekend, against Big-Sky member Eastern Washington, 3-2, Friday evening.
The other two Big-Sky opponents CSUN has beaten have been Weber State, whom they beat 3-2 on Aug. 27, and Sacramento State, team CSUN defeated, 3-1, on Saturday.
Big West Player of the Week Mahina Haina had 11 kills against the Eagles. She has tallied a total of 56 kills against Big-Sky competition.
Meanwhile, Natalie Allen regained her form for this one. She had 12 kills and 18 digs in the win.
Next up for the Matadors is Southern Utah on Saturday morning, and UNLV, later on that evening, to conclude the tournament.
