Lambda Chi Alpha will host their first philanthropy event in 10 years, Watermelon Bust Sunday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m near campus.

Six sororities have been invited to participate in four to five competitions, including a watermelon eating contest and obstacle course, while collecting canned food items for The North American Food Drive.

Although the games determine who the winning team is, anyone who wants to attend is asked to bring a canned food item for entry and bringing the most cans is one of the competitions.

The title of the event comes from a similar philanthropy event the national Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity holds.

It will be held at 9963 Lindley Ave., near Lassen Street and the CSUN dorms. Although it will move outdoors if weather permits.

The participating sororities are Alpha Phi, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Zeta, and Alpha Omicron Pi, six girls on each team will be participating.
