CSUN’s IT Department informed students by email Wednesday that phone lines were experiencing troubles intermittently.
“We don’t have an exact cause of the problem,” said Charles Nmolian, a student working for IT. “We are assuming it has something to do with the upgrade earlier this year.”
Phones continue to be down intermittently around the school offices, including voicemail systems for professors. The IT Department has no timetable for phones to return to full operational status. They said students should use email for correspondence with professors if necessary or urgent.
IT is continuing to work with Cisco, their phone vendor to resolve the issues.
