Award winning actress, singer and dancer Beatrice “Bebe” Neuwirth will be performing “Stories with Piano” with pianist Scott Cady at the Valley Performing Art Center on Saturday, Feb. 23.
In the performance they will execute songs from lyricists Kander and Ebb, Weill-Brecht and Stephen Sondheim in her one-woman cabaret show. Neuwirth is best known for her Emmy-award winning role as Dr. Lilith Sternin, from the TV show “Cheers.”

The performance of this genre of music is generally aimed towards an adult audience. Cabaret music originated in Paris, France after the opening of the night club Le Chat Noir, which opened in the 1880s. However, the image of the seductive woman performing at nightclubs became associated with the genre after the Broadway hit “Cabaret” in 1967.
Tickets are on sale at VPAC’s website. Tickets range from $44 to $80 and the performance will begin at 8 p.m.
