Members of the Sigma Alpha Zeta sorority marched around campus with signs and a megaphone Thursday evening to advocate against domestic violence.
“Our philanthropy is domestic violence awareness, so we want to advocate against domestic violence and let people know to speak up and not be afraid,” Laura Ontiveros, senior public health major said.
The sorority marched to promote Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October. They also hosted a workshop after the march with a shelter, A Window Between Worlds, which uses art therapy to help victims of domestic violence cope with their experiences through art.
