August 24 starts a new CSUN semester, and the grind begins again with the cycle continuing to churn out graduates and scholars. But those scholars and graduates need to have fun too! Comic Book Apocalypse: The Graphic World of John Kirby
CSUN will exhibit 100 artworks by renown comic artist Jack Kirby, who was integral in launching the vision of the Marvel Universe. The exhibit will showcase work from his long, illustrious career.

J.A.W. Cooper, Jose Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros
Artists J.A.W. Cooper and Jose Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros set up shop at the La Luz de Jesus Gallery showcasing their latest works. Check out Ontiveros portraying your favorite Disney characters partaking in modern vices and the elegant abstract figures Cooper has to offer in this free showcase.

Check out San Fernando Valley locals Kid Cadaver as they host their EP release show at The Satellite. This $8 venture to Silverlake is well worth the trip and expense, with Coyote and Layne closing out a great show. This event is 21+ only.
