Crime blotter for Nov. 2 to Nov. 9

Monday, Nov. 2:

An unknown suspect stole a bicycle from the University Village Apartments on Monday between the hours of 10 p.m. and 3 p.m., according to the crime log archive. The bicycle was reportedly locked to a light pole and was stolen after the suspect removed the front tire from the bike.

Graffiti was etched into a wall of the men’s third floor restroom in University Hall. The incident is still under investigation.

According to the crime log archive, a woman’s cell phone was stolen when she left it unattended in the Bayramian Hall third floor restroom. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. and is still under investigation.

A hit-and-run crash occurred when an unknown suspect collided into another car and then fled the scene. According to the crime log, the incident happened sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. in parking structure B3.

Another hit-and-run crash occurred on Sunday or Monday in parking lot F9 between the hours of 7:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.

CSUN officers arrested a suspect for possession of marijuana and psylocibin mushrooms on Monday night. According to the crime log, the arrest occurred at 9:15 p.m. at Nordhoff Street and Lindley Avenue.

CSUN officers responded to a call at the Oviatt Library at 4:50 p.m. when they received a call about two men yelling at each other and threatening to fight. No one was arrested, according to the crime log, and the incident is still under investigation.

Tuesday, Nov. 3:

An unknown suspect wrote graffiti in black marker in multiple locations in the Jacaranda Hall first floor men’s restroom. The incident is still under investigation.

A laptop was stolen from a University Park Apartment common room when it was left unattended by its owner. According to the crime log, the laptop was left alone around 9 p.m. and when the victim went back to retrieve it at around 10:40 a.m., it was gone. The incident is still under investigation.

Three bicycles were stolen from various locations near Jerome Richfield Hall, the University Park Apartments and University Village. All of the bikes were secured at the time of the thefts.

CSUN officers busted a suspect for possession of marijuana in the University Park Apartments at some time between 3 p.m. and 11:05 a.m. According to the crime log, the suspect was issued a misdemeanor citation and released at the scene.

Wednesday, Nov. 4:

An unknown suspect changed a victim’s bank account information from a computer the victim was using to access his CSUN portal account. According to the crime log archive, the incident, reported on Nov. 4, occurred at an unknown location on campus around 5:43 p.m. on Aug. 10. The incident is still under investigation.

An unknown suspect wrote graffiti in various colors in the Art and Design building. According to the crime log, the incident happened in the men’s restroom at an unknown time.

An iPad was stolen in the Oviatt Library around 1:50 p.m. after it was left unattended. The man left his iPad unattended while he went to the restroom and when he returned it was gone. The incident is still under investigation.

Another bicycle was stolen from the University Village Apartments on Wednesday. According to the crime log archive, the bike was secured to a light post with a cable lock when it was stolen.
