The CSUN women's volleyball team won the SJSU Hyatt Invitational Tournament on Sept. 15-16 at Spartan Gym in San Jose, after coming back from a two-game deficit in the final match against the host Spartans. After sweeping Harvard in their opening match on Sept.

The CSUN women's soccer team scored early and often, beating the University of Idaho Vandals 7-2 at Matador Soccer Field on Sept. 12. In a game where goal production came from six different CSUN players, forward Kristal Phillips led the Matadors with two goals and forward Tessa Binkley tied the school record for assists with three.

The CSUN women's volleyball team split their two matches in the UNLV Invitational Tournament held at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas on Sept. 8 through Sept. 9. The Matadors opened up Sept. 8 with a win over the Xavier Musketeers, but fell short against their host, UNLV Rebels, on Sept.
