Students shouldn’t fear reprisal for opinions

Students come to colleges such as CSUN to learn facts and gain new skills and experiences. However, I have noticed that many times students are forced to be told the opinions of their given teacher even if they do not agree or are not interested. Many times, this results in students either staying quiet, speaking to only be quickly silenced, or trying to argue their point while being harassed and risking their grade being effected.

High school students ready to enter college

College is an institution for higher education, but education is more than merely academics. A complete higher education includes becoming knowledgeable about life lessons, such as finances, communication and responsibility. Being an intellectual individual means that you are articulate, open to new ideas and willing to do something out of the norm to better yourself, a company, a community or society in general.

As I turn on the television on May 1, I was shocked to see peaceful protesters and the media being beaten by the police at an immigration rally. Track team wins conference title

The CSUN track and field team celebrated a double-victory on Saturday after capturing both the men's and women's titles as the 2007 Big West Conference Champions at the Matador Track and Field Complex. It is the second straight title for the CSUN women's team and the third title since 2004 for the men's team.

After a brief two-year hiatus, the CSUN Matador softball team is back in the NCAA Tournament, and they won't have to travel far to start its playoff run. The Matadors will start its 2007 playoff run up North, as they travel to Palo Alto to participate in the Stanford regional.
