Introduction to Accessibility and Universal Design

Description:  In this introductory session, participants will explore essential strategies and principles of accessibility and universal design aimed at fostering inclusive learning environments. The session will highlight practical approaches to supporting the diverse needs of students, faculty, and staff by creating materials and experiences that are accessible to all.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Understand the distinction between accessibility and universal design.
  • Learn the four foundational principles of accessibility.
  • Identify the benefits of designing with accessibility in mind and applying universal design principles to enhance learning experiences and materials.

Recommended Attendees: Staff, Faculty, Executives, Financial Personnel, Marketing Specialist, Business Analyst, Admin Support, Graphic Designers, and Instructional Support.
