“Taking a Non-traditional Path with your Psychology Degree” with Essence Wilson, M.A.

April 4 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Offering psychology students more knowledge on leveraging their versatile degree for varying disciplines, settings, and even career paths. Meet, Essence Wilson!

She is a current doctoral candidate specializing in health communication at the University of Southern California. Her recent research endeavors and current dissertation effort involve developing and testing the cognitive and social mechanism of animation for health promotion and intervention development. In addition, she is a part-time lecturer for the CSUN Psychology Department – giving back to her Matador community by having received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from the university.

Overall, Essence’s graduate school experience is non-traditional, having transitioned from Psychology to Communication – taking an interdisciplinary approach in her research practice. However, the core of her research practice is the same, which will be discussed for the CAPS community!
