The Matadors hadn’t won back-to-back Mountain Pacific Sports Federation matches since late February before consecutive conference wins against Hawai’i last weekend put them in perfect position to earn a higher seed in the upcoming playoffs. The CSUN pitchers couldn’t stop the potent Oregon State offense during Wednesday’s home doubleheader at Matador Diamond. Baseball: Transfers and freshmen playing important roles for Matadors in 2012

CSUN baseball is in the midst of what most people might consider “a rebuilding year” for a program. The Matadors are fielding a higher ratio of newcomers on the roster than most colleges, with nearly half of the team being comprised of new faces in CSUN uniforms. No. 14 CSUN dominated No. 12 Hawai’i for the second night in a row, taking the match 3-1 after the Matadors’ offense managed to out hit the Warriors for the second consecutive night.
