A.S. removes five senators from office

The Associated Student Senate reported 11 vacant seats during its first meeting for the spring semester. Five of the 11 vacant seats resulted from involuntary resignations from the newly elected senators. Lizbeth Mateo held the title Upper Division II senator before she was asked to resign after not attending a mandatory retreat for all appointed senators.

Former dean proposes remodeling Nordhoff Hall

Nordhoff Hall’s old age look might be changing in the years to come if enough funding is granted toward the project. A web link at the theatre department’s website shows hopes of remodeling Nordhoff Hall by giving it a more pleasing style. The idea came from Dave Moon, former dean of the arts department.

The Leukemia ‘ Lymphoma Society chose “Twenty Years of Saving Lives” as the new slogan for their program, Team in Training. Mary Schaffer, an assistant professor in the department of Cinema ‘ Television Arts, has helped the organization save lives via the program for four years.

CSUN student’s alleged killer appears in court

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 22 for the woman accused of driving a car into a crowd at a gas station parking lot and allegedly killing Shontae Treniece Blanche, a 22-year-old CSUN student, and her unborn child last November. Unique Kiana Bishop, 21, is being charged with two murders with special circumstances, District Attorney Jean Daley said on Friday, Jan.
