The road woes continue for CSUN. The Matadors (5-7-1, 0-2-0 Big West) lost their sixth straight road game and fourth overall when they fell 1-0 to the Cal Poly Mustangs (8-6-0, 3-0-0) Sunday afternoon.

Matadors begin Big West play on the road

The Matadors have finished up the non-conference portion of their schedule and will begin Big West Conference action this weekend with two road games. On Friday they will travel up the coast to Santa Barbara to battle the Gauchos, and Sunday, they will visit San Luis Obispo to take on the Cal Poly Mustangs.

Dodgers > Angels

All season long, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have been looked at as the premiere team in baseball. They’ve had everything you could possibly want out of a club: good hitting, quality pitching, effective base-running, and team chemistry. They finished the season with a league-best 100 wins and a 21-game lead in the American League West division.

Matadors fight, but drop close one to USC

In their final tune-up before Big West Conference action, the Matadors (5-5-1) fell 2-1 to the No. 5 USC Trojans (10-1-0) Sunday afternoon at McAlister Field.

Matadors lose heartbreaker

What looked to be CSUN’s second straight overtime game turned into a heartbreaking loss. With just 24 seconds remaining in the match, sophomore Lily Sorentino scored for the Loyola Marymount Lions to give them a 1-0 victory over the Matadors Friday.

MLB Playoffs: Boston Red Sox vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

The Los Angeles Angels have been the best team in baseball all season long. They’re the most balanced, they play hard, and are very aggressive on the bases. They will take their Major League-best 100 wins into the American League Division Series against the defending World Series Champion, the Boston Red Sox. Offensively, Boston is going to falter for the same reason that the Dodgers are going to thrive this October: Manny Ramirez.

Dons tie Northridge at the end

The celebration of win No. 100 is still on hold. After taking an early lead, the Cal State Northridge Matadors (5-3-1) gave up a late goal to the University of San Francisco Dons (4-5-2) forcing the game to end in a 1-1 tie Sunday. The number of wins in school history remains 99.

Searching for No. 100 at home

After four games in a row on the road, which stretched from Northern California all the way into the Arizona desert, the Matadors (5-3-0) return back home to host the University of San Francisco Dons (4-4-1) on Sunday at Matador Soccer Field.

CSUN loses to Arizona in double-overtime

The Matadors (5-3-0) jumped out to a first half lead, but couldn’t hold on as they fell to the Wildcats 2-1 in double-overtime Sunday in Arizona.
