CSUN student films showcased at Academy of Television Arts and Sciences

The CTVA department held their annual senior film showcase at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in North Hollywood.   The event was hosted by actress Jenna Elfman, who is best known for her role in television series “Dharma & Greg,” and actor Louis Gossett who won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in “An Officer and a Gentleman.” The films chosen to appear that evening were judged by a panel of professionals. CSUN students produce Night of Fashion

Apparel design and merchandising students finished up the semester by showcasing their clothing designs and displaying their skills at producing a fashion show at Night of Fashion at the Valley Performance Arts Center. Their designs were judged by a panel of professionals who work in the apparel industry. CSUN students are being asked to think about ways to improve current technology and to be more thoughtful about their energy use as well as the production of energy. CSUN’s night of fashion puts apparel on center stage

A New York musician played the classical tunes of a violin on a stage. The artist then paused for a moment, brought his violin down to his waist and started rapping into the microphone. CSUN hosted speakers and presented a documentary on Tuesday in recognition of World Water Day. World Water Day is an international event to bring awareness about improper water usage. The Institute of Sustainability spent the day teaching students about different strategies to conserve water. Survey to help CSUN health center evaluate student needs

A random sample of 10,000 CSUN students are being surveyed via email on a variety of health related topics to make improvements to health related services offered on campus. The American College Health Association is issuing a survey to universities across the nation.
