Green documentaries to look out for

In celebration of Earth Day, step out of the box and get the 411 on some issues that you might not be aware of.  But instead of reading boring documents about how we’re polluting our planet, invite some friends over for a night of green documentaries. They have become a growing niche in the film industry.  They’re interesting, informative and entertaining.  The plus side is that you’re supporting the movers-and-shakers of the environmental movement.  If you have any more suggestions… Read more

Professor receives national teaching award

Michael Elliott was a bit surprised by the final project in Dr. Amine Ghanem’s Senior Design Class.  Analyzing the construction of the new CSUN Student Recreation Center would be a daunting but real-life assignment. “I thought to myself, how are we going to be able to complete this,” said Elliott, a senior majoring in Construction Management Technology.  “I won’t lie, it was very challenging but not impossible. CSUN taking a lead in environmental sustainability

CSUN has showed that it has been putting its green foot forward and leading the way for the CSU’s.  I had previously known that CSUN had a solid foundation for eco-friendly development but I never knew just how much until this week.  The Environmental and Occupational Health (EOH) hosted a technical symposium about how sustainability initiatives will affect university, national and international levels. If you want to get any information on sustainability issues, there is an exhibit in the main… Read more
