CSUN students received an email earlier this week announcing new restrictions on spring registration, including a 15-unit cap and less class seats. The decision to tighten registration rules was implemented to avoid a $7 million penalty from the CSU by reducing students’ unit loads, according to campus officials. Occupy protests head to CSUN

The Occupy movement that has moved across the country will set up camp at CSUN Thursday. Student activists plan to occupy the Oviatt lawn from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. during a schedule National Student Protest. Known as Occupy Colleges, this branch of the national Occupy Movement is encouraging walkouts on college campuses throughout the country. Police apprehended a suspect who ran across six lanes of traffic and onto campus Thursday after leading police on a car pursuit. An LAPD motorcycle officer attempted to pull over an erratic driver near Nordhoff Street and Etiwanda Avenue at about 5:45 p.m., said Captain Kris Pitcher of Devonshire LAPD. The CSUN women’s soccer team (1-4) won its first game of the season on Sunday afternoon, beating Princeton 3-1 at Matador Soccer Field.
