Friday, Jan. 22

  • A suspect was arrested by a CSUN police officer at the F8 parking lot for violating a stay-away order, possession of a controlled substance and non-student refusal to leave the university, at around 9:08 a.m. The suspect was transported to the LAPD Van Nuys jail for booking.
  • An unknown suspect used white chalk to graffiti on the sidewalk outside the Oviatt Library, at unknown hours. Officers are continuing their investigation, according to the CSUN crime log.
  • An unknown male was seen defecating in public around the Transit Center at around 4:41 p.m. The suspect left before the officers arrived.

Saturday, Jan. 23

  • A known suspect has been sending unwanted text messages to a victim. Officers are continuing their investigation according to the crime log.
  • An unknown suspect stole a laptop from a female student’s room in the University Park Apartments at around 11:30 a.m.

Sunday, Jan. 24

  • A resident of the University Park Apartments 4 was referred for a drug-law violation at 12:25 a.m. The suspect was referred for disciplinary action.
  • CSUN officers responded to reports of a fist fight between approximately five unknown males. The incident took place at the intersection of Lassen and Lindley at 2:29 a.m. According to the log, all suspects had left before the responding officer arrived. Officers are continuing their investigation.
  • An unknown suspect used white chalk to graffiti outside the Department of Police Services building, during unknown hours. Officers are continuing their investigation, according to the log.
  • An unknown suspect used a red grease paint pen, to graffiti on the first level pillar of the G9 parking structure, at unknown hours. Officers are continuing their investigation, according to the log.

Monday, Jan. 25

  • An unknown suspect damaged two fire hose boxes in the G9 parking structure at unknown hours.
  • A suspect was cited for possession of marijuana in the G3 parking structure at 11:24 p.m. The suspect was released by the officer at the scene with a notice to appear.
  • Four pamphlet holders were damaged by an unknown suspect in Nordhoff Hall at around 5 p.m. to 7:50 a.m. the following day. The suspect then proceeded to scatter the pamphlets.
  • A male suspect exposed himself to a female after he had asked if he could sketch her in the Oviatt Library at around 3 to 3:40 p.m. Officers are continuing their investigation according to the log.
  • A bicycle was stolen from the University Park Apartments 3 at around 10:50 p.m. It had been secured to a bicycle rack.
  • An unknown suspect defecated in the B3 parking structure at unknown hours.

Tuesday, Jan. 26

  • An unknown suspect knocked over desks, chairs and tables in a classroom in Nordhoff Hall at unknown hours. An office chair was damaged.
  • Clothing and keys were stolen by an unknown suspect from a locker that may have been left unsecured at the Student Recreation Center between the hours of 5:30 to 10 p.m.
  • A bicycle was stolen by an unknown suspect from a bicycle rack at the University Park Apartments 4 between the hours of 5:30 p.m. to 10:40 a.m. the following day. It had been secured to the rack with a cable lock.
  • Handlebars from a bicycle were stolen by an unknown suspect between the hours of 12 p.m. to 12:40 p.m. the following day at the University Park Apartments 2.

Wednesday, Jan. 27

  • A black pen was used by an unknown suspect to write graffiti in a stall of the second-floor restroom in Bayramian Hall at unknown hours.
  • A student attempted to make a payment with a counterfeit bill at Bayramian Hall at 11:19 a.m. It’s not known where the student received the bill.

Thursday, Jan. 28

  • A suspect was arrested for driving without a license, failure to obey a traffic sign and no proof of registration on Vincennes and Darby at 10:04 a.m. The suspect was released with a notice to appear.
  • An officer arrested a suspect for driving without a license, possession of marijuana while driving and turning over a double yellow line on Nordhoff and Matador Road at 3:03 p.m. The suspect was released with a notice to appear.
  • An unknown suspect collided into a vehicle at the G4 parking lot at around 2 p.m. The suspect fled in an unknown direction. According to the log, the suspect’s vehicle scratched the victim’s vehicle’s bumper.

Saturday, Jan. 30

  • CSUN officers arrested the suspect at the Oviatt Library for obstructing a peace officer and for possession of marijuana at 11:03 a.m. The suspect was transported to the CSUN station for booking and then released with a notice to appear.
  • CSUN officers responded to reports of two suspects possibly breaking into a vehicle at the E6 parking lot around 12:15 p.m. The suspects fled the parking lot before officers could arrive. One vehicle was broken into and a backpack was taken. According to the log, the campus CCTV system captured the incident.
  • An unknown male suspect broke into a residence of the University Park Apartments 7 at 5 a.m. The suspect noticed that the residence was occupied and immediately fled the location in an unknown direction.

Sunday, Jan. 31

  • Three residents of the University Park Apartments 10 were referred for drug-law violations at 1:22 a.m.
  • CSUN officers arrested a suspect around Live Oak Hall for violating a seven-day stay-away order from the campus.
