A man accused of assaulting a CSUN student near the Wells Fargo bank at the corner of Nordhoff Street and Reseda Boulevard was detained by CSUN Police Department Wednesday before being handed over to the Los Angeles Police Department, police said.
A 31-year-old male allegedly grabbed the victim by the back of the neck. Officers responding to the call said the suspect seemed intoxicated, according to police.
According to watch commander Lieutenant Mark Benevides of the CSUN PD, the suspect was held at the scene by campus police until officers from the LAPD Devonshire division arrived to take over.
He said that medical attention was not requested for the suspect or the victim.
