On Oct. 6, 2026, the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics hosted a fair for students of all majors to explore resources, connect with clubs and other students in similar career paths, and learn about the college’s programs.
The event ran from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Cleary Courtyard, providing students with many opportunities to explore the different Business majors offered at CSUN, along with the many events coming up as well. The fair featured several representatives throughout the event from the Business department, ranging from Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Entrepreneurship and more.
Many student organizations also tabled at the fair, including the American Marketing Association, Associated Students, CSUN Entrepreneurs Club and CSUN’s Social Media Club, REACH. This event gave students great opportunities to build connections with the Nazarian department and introduced students to a wide range of what the Nazarian college offers, some for the first time.
Fair attendees learned new information they may not have known before attending, displaying the importance the fair holds for students. The fair provided free catering for attending students, faculty and alumni, including Domino’s pizza and Menchie’s frozen yogurt, to help attendees enjoy the fair, even amidst the scorching heat.
One of the many tables at the fair, run by the Career Education and Professional Development Center, offered very important information for students to develop their careers, including providing opportunities for internships, hosting clothing drives for the Dean’s Closet, which provides Business students with outfits for interviews, and providing overall guidance and advisement for aspiring corporate professionals.
The CSUN VITA Clinic also appeared at the fair, providing students with information about their cost-free income tax assistance offers. The VITA Clinic offers students free tax help and financial coaching for students to take advantage of and learn how to manage their finances as a whole. This resource gifts students with valuable information and proves to be an important and supportive tool students can utilize.
The VITA Clinic table, along with the rest of the tables at the fair, did not limit its resources to just business students. The fair was open to every CSUN student across campus, regardless of major or career interests, providing all with opportunities to grow in their time at CSUN and prepare them for the job market.
One representative from the Department of Finance, Ioannis Branikas, made an important note to sum up the fair’s goals.
“Finance is for everybody… It doesn’t have to be corporate finance,” Branikas said. “It doesn’t have to be finance for investments or to trade stock; you’re going to use finance to just improve your own personal finances.”
Whether you are a business major or not, the David Nazarian College resources provide students with valuable tools for future careers, lessons for personal growth and further steps to confidently transition into life after college.
