Evey shot in tennis is for a specific reason.
In the women’s doubles match, Captain Brooke Daone was returning serve with slice.
That works in the singles where the player is standing at the baseline and not attacking the net.
It doesn’t in doubles where the second player is at the net is ready to finish it off with volley winner.
It’s like handing a gift to the opponent.
Slice is used in singles for change of pace in rallies.
It’s one of my favorite shots as it keeps the ball low making it difficult for the opponent to hit a heavy stroke.
Use the slice the way it’s supposed to Doane.
