A little wind and chill on Sunday turned into a warm and sunny day to bike all around Los Angeles in the first CicLAvia of the year.
Sunday’s route was the same as the first ever CicLAvia, from Boyle Heights in East LA to East Hollywood.
This year’s CicLAvia, had a better turnout than last year, where many cicyclists discovered a different LA. The route featured places around the city, like city hall and MacArthur Park. It brought many people from all over LA to view to ride and roam the streets, to discover restaurants and much more.
Like any metropolitan city, LA has had problems with pollution, car pollution being the main contributor. CicLAvia is the city’s effort to be like Bogota, Colombia where ciclovia is a way where people can enjoy a Sunday of blocked streets to cycle most of the day.
