MataFest

The University Student Union (USU) kicks off the semester at its annual MataFest with free food, live entertainment and prizes. Available twice during the day, check out the MataFest to learn more about events, programs and opportunities available to CSUN students. Students can also learn more about the different facilities on campus available for low to no cost for all Matadors.

Date: Aug. 26, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Sports-A-Palooza

If you are interested in joining a sport, stop by CSUN’s Sports-A-Palooza, a showcase of the available sports clubs CSUN has to offer. Check out the event on Sierra Lawn, Wednesday, Aug. 26, to learn more about recruitment and important dates.

Matador’s Day of Service

This year, CSUN is inviting all freshmen to come together to clean up CSUN at its first ever freshman service project. Matador’s Day of Service is a volunteer opportunity to encourage student involvement and help the communities around the university through various beautification activities. To attend, students must register online through Moodle. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Date: Aug. 29th, 8 a.m.

Meet the Clubs

Looking to join a club or organization this semester? Check out this semester’s Meet the Clubs event, available on two different days. Hundreds of the groups on campus will be tabling at this event to inform students on their meeting dates and membership requirements. Meet over 300 available organizations, including cultural clubs, department organizations, fraternities and sororities, and many more.

Date: Sept. 1 and 2, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Fraternities and Sororities

Panhellenic Registration Deadline

If students want to join a fraternity or sorority, make sure to register by Sept. 3 and save $10 off the regular registration price. However, if students miss the early bird registration deadline, register before midnight, Sept. 10, at the regular fee of $60.

Recruitment Orientation Sessions

Recruitment orientation sessions are mandatory for all prospective Greeks. Two dates are available for attendance. Make sure to have completed the online Pre-Recruitment Education Program before participating in any recruitment events. The program can be found and completed online through the link provided.
