Bush has right to spy for sake of national security

Phillip Blake March 24, 2006
Just like any American, I want to know whether my country is pursuing illegal activities, especially those conducted on its own citizens. For me to learn that my government is spying on me and listening in on my phone conversations and tracking me would have me irate.

Lip service from ‘Kissing Tigers’; in person ‘ Knitting Factory

John DuBois March 24, 2006
Kissing Tigers took the stage at the Knitting Factory on Sunset Boulevard and jumped into their first song "Rooms by the Hour." The band's five members form a tightly knit group with a sound that filled the intimate venue. The group played a number of songs off of their 2004 album "Pleasure of Resistance" and played through some new songs.

In the world of professional sports, it is up to the athlete and the coach to take responsibility

Ivan Yeo March 24, 2006
Alfonso Soriano and the Washington Nationals might want to consider doing their own Abbott and Costello comedy bit on baseball. It could be titled "Who's on second, Who's at left field." The latest episode surrounding the Nationals involves their star left fielder (or second baseman, depending who you talk to) Soriano and general manager Jim Bowden.

After reading the opinion by Justin Satzman, I had to write a rebuttal since he was wrong on every major point he made. Spying on suspected terrorist calls is vital to our national security and perfectly legal. We have arrested many terrorists because of it.

CSUN Jazz Band swings eclectic

The CSUN Jazz "A" Band has the stage presence of a modern day big band straight out of the Benny Goodman era, but they still squeeze in some modern compositions. Matt Harris, director of the band, seemingly leaves the performance pieces up to an extemporaneous selection from a body of eclectic work.

Bush uses language of fear as political tactic

It has been four-and-a-half years since the 9/11 attacks, and it is certainly hard to believe; both the fact that they happened and that it's been so long. Sundial covered war anniversary poignantly. I've been particularly discouraged since the students last semester reacted so strongly to the faculty's desire to keep ROTC off the campus. So much so, that I directed a reading of "What I Heard in Iraq" as a protest against the USA's third anniversary of involvement.

Arthur Vong March 23, 2006
The Cal State Northridge softball team won only one out of four games at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton March 15-18. A fifth game against Florida State was canceled in the bottom of the fifth inning due to rain and lightning when the Matadors held a 3-2 advantage March 18.

The other day I was studying at Borders. I happened to notice that the person next to me was reading a book from "The Complete Idiot's Guide" series. Yes, I'm sure you have all seen these. "This or That for Dummies," or "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Something or Other.
