A.S. kids’ center teams with Ralphs

The Associated Students Children's Center has recently partnered with Ralphs Supermarkets to create additional activities for the center, said director Arlene Rhine. "Every time a person shops at Ralphs and shows their ID, the Children's Center will get a percentage from that," Rhine said.

A man acting as the voice of the President said that Iraq is a "catastrophic success." In a matter of 55 minutes of stage time, 10 men and women used direct quotations that detailed the last years of war and preparations for war in Iraq. The stage, set simply with 10 chairs and 10 water bottles had volunteer actors who wanted to speak about Iraq sitting behind 10 music stands that each held the script adapted by Simon Levy from Eliot Weinberger's article "What I Heard About Iraq.

CSUN student mourned, accident suspect gives up

A 21-year-old Garden Grove man turned himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division at about 3 p.m. March 21 in connection with a hit-and-run accident that killed CSUN student Corinne McClane March 18, according to the LAPD. Thomas Om, accompanied by his attorney, turned himself in, and was arrested and booked in connection with felony hit-and-run, said LAPD Officer Sandra Escalante.

About 40 faculty, students and staff protested March 21 in front of University Hall for more classes and faculty, and new pay contracts for faculty. Dave Ballard, president of the California Faculty Association, CSUN chapter, met with CSUN president Jolene Koester, along with other university officials, whose office is located in University Hall, to discuss the same issues during the demonstration.

Chants of "No more war" rang out across the Oviatt library lawn on the morning of March 20 as more than a 100 students, professors and community members met on the steps of the library to protest the war in Iraq. Brightly colored poster boards with anti-war slogans were laid out on the steps leading up to the library.

The rising costs of attending college are forcing more students to work jobs on top of the presentations, studying, research papers, midterms, and finals that students are already expected to complete. While getting a job might be inevitable, there is no reason why you can't head into the job market prepared.
