What will it mean for CSUN students when Koester leaves office?

After nearly 11 years in office,  Jolene Koester announced Monday that she will retire from her position as CSUN president by the end of 2011.
Her announcement listed highlights of achievements during her time in office including increased graduation rates, successful fundraising campaigns, a policy of transparency in governance of the university and the grand opening of the VPAC, which placed CSUN firmly on the map as a cultural force in the area.
In an announcement to the CSUN community via email, she stated the school has “weathered difficult budget circumstances” and she thanked Chancellor Reed for his “excellent guidance and direction within a difficult political and fiscal environment.”
Given the budget crisis and economic environment, what could a change in leadership in the middle of a school year mean for CSUN students?

    Koester saw football done away with when she came to CSUN with her departure football will return @ CSUN! The tea party approach to bringing back football is beginning to work!
