Students can register for Serenity Yoga, which brings healing and balance to the body’s systems. This Hatha based yoga class targets relaxation and includes posture, breath and meditation. The event will occur from 4-5:10 p.m. in the Oasis Wellness Center Reflection Patio and is free of charge.

Guided Meditation
The Oasis Wellness Center will hold a meditation event, which looks to remove stress and replace it with a dose of inner peace and is a great tool to balance your emotions, deal with physical and psychological distress and promote the peace of the present moment. The event will be held from 4-4:55 p.m. in the Vitality Room and is free to all CSUN students looking for a relaxed evening.

CSUN will hold a panel, which will cover important issues that dominate mainstream environmentalism, such as pollution, air quality, and water sustainability. The event will occur from 4-6 p.m. in the Lake View Terrace, located in the University Student Union, and is free to all students.

“Cultivating Mindfulness” at the Oasis Wellness Center
Oasis Wellness Center will be hosting a workshop called, “Cultivating Mindfulness,” which aims to teach you meditation techniques that will help you gain a more relaxed, stress-free life. The workshop is free to all CSUN students from 12-1 p.m. in the Serenity/Vitality Meeting Room, located in the Oasis Wellness Center.

Dr. Robert Patterson of the Klotz Student Health Center will lead a chiropractic workshop, which will help you discover the root cause of back problems. The event will be held from 1-2 p.m. at the Oasis Wellness Center. Cost is free to all students.

Art Therapy at the Oasis: Contemplation Painting
The Oasis Wellness Center will hold a free workshop, which uses painting to improve your stress levels, from 2:30-4 p.m. The event is held every Wednesday, and registration begins 24 hours before the class date. Cost of the workshop is free for all students.

The university will have a DJ, Hip-Hop/spoken word and sketch artist performances from 12-1 p.m. at the Oviatt Library Learning Commons. The cost is free to CSUN students.

Solaris
This film covers to story of Russia’s greatest icon painter, Andrei Tarkovsky, and how he created a brilliantly original science-fiction epic that challenges our conceptions about love, truth, and humanity itself. The 165-minute event will begin at 7 p.m. in the Armer Theater (MZ 100) and is free to all students.

Sexual Health Education
CSUN will hold a 60-minute event on sexual and reproductive health and will cover three main topics: Sexually transmitted diseases, contraception, and Klotz Health Center resources. The presentation will occur from 10-11 a.m. in the Vitality Room, located in the Oasis Wellness Center. All students enter for free.

“Let’s Beat Test Anxiety” Workshops
Dr. Saimir Thano of University Counseling Services will lead a workshop, which teaches ways to manage and improve your anxiety when it comes to test taking. The event takes place from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Oasis Wellness Center and is free of charge for all students on campus.

Antigone
This play, directed by Professor Anamarie Dwyer, follows the classic Greek tragedy of a daring young woman who goes against the King to give her brother a proper soldier’s burial. The event will be performed Friday through Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the Experimental Theatre of the Valley Performing Arts Center. Prices are $15 for students, $16 for staff, $17 for seniors, and $20 those not affiliated with CSUN.

Haiti International Film Festival
This Black History Month event includes three award-winning, feature documentaries about Haitian Americans telling their authentic stories of their struggles with their identity. The event starts at 11 a.m. in the Armer Theatre. More information can be found at www.jrrstudios.com.
