The CSUN men’s volleyball team had a great turnout at the USC Fall Tournament, winning three matches out of four on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Galen Center.
The 9-team preseason tournament included Long Beach State, UC Santa Barbara, Pepperdine University, USC(Cardinal/Gold), UCLA, Grand Canyon, Cal Baptist, Concordia and CSUN.
Matadors took on Grand Canyon in their first match–taking their first win of the day 25-20, 25-17, and 15-7.
CSUN lost their momentum in their second match against Long Beach State who took the first set 25-20. The Matadors bounced back winning the second set, 25-22, but did not follow through till the end–LBSU won the third set with a score of 15-11.
The Matadors regrouped in their third and fourth matches where they defeated Cal Baptist University 28-26, 20-25, (5-2) and USC Cardinal 25-19, 25-20.
The Matadors will be hosting their annual alumni match on Nov. 5 before playing a two-day tournament at UCLA on Nov. 11-12.
