The CSUN women’s basketball team (4-3) pulled out a tough non-conference road win against Northern Arizona, 83-79 on Thursday morning.
Juniors Serafina Maulupe and Tessa Boagni led the charge for the Matadors with 20 points each to push them past the Lumberjacks.
With minutes left in the game, the Lumberjacks were able to come within 75-71 before sophomore Channon Fluker scored an easy lay-up. Another sophomore standout, Cheyenne Allen, added another big field goal to go along with a free throw to put the game in the bag.
The Matadors finished with an impressive shooting night at 48.3 percent (28-of-58) from the field and 11-of-24 (45.8 percent) from 3-point range.
Led by Maulupe and Boagni, the Matadors found numerous way to score in a much needed road win.
The Matadors return home for their next game against Eastern Washington this Saturday, Dec. 3. at 6:30 p.m. in the Matadome.
