A sexual assault at CSUN’s Orange Grove near Nordhoff and Lindley was reported Friday morning in a campuswide alert from CSUN Department of Police Services (DPS).
The victim described the suspect as a white male, wearing a gray hoodie with dark eyes and hair, standing at approximately 5’10” to 6’ tall. According to the email by CSUN DPS, the suspect was reported to have noticeable “skin discoloration” near his nose.
The suspect was last seen heading east of campus on foot.
After the incident, the victim contacted police from a Blue Light emergency phone. The nearest phone to the Orange Grove is located on Haskell Walk near the duck pond.

Deputy Chief Mark Benavidez said there are cameras facing “in the general direction” of the Orange Grove, and the investigation is still ongoing.
In their email, campus police provided crime prevention measures, including steps to take if an assault occurs. They advise students to report the crime and seek medical attention, encouraging them not to go alone and to contact a friend, family member or care advocate.
