Stray Kids struck Stays’ hearts with their latest listen-worthy EP, “DO IT,” on Nov. 21. The album includes a double title track and is part of their “SKZ IT TAPE” series.
After the release of their album “KARMA” in August, the eight-member K-pop group Stray Kids received good karma, winning two awards for the album for Best Music 10 and Best Selling Album at the 2025 Korea Grand Music Awards. These were among the five awards they won, also making them the only artists that night to receive two Daesangs for Grand Record and Grand Honor’s Choice.
The digital cover of “DO IT” displays all members, framed with pink and gray borders. The members appear on the cover, but in a monochrome filter to fit the theme, wearing very sleek outfits.
Bang Chan, Changbin and Han members of Stray Kids’ subunit 3RACHA, were involved in the production, showcasing their dedication and hard work in creating their music.
Now, let’s go over the songs they’ve released under “DO IT” that will be on my replayed playlist.
“Do It”
The first title track, “Do It,” shares its name with the album and makes listeners want to move their bodies to the rhythm. The repeated lyrics “Do it, do it, do it, do it” in the chorus, combined with their dance moves from the music video, make it stick in your mind. The song encourages doing things without hesitation, acting rather than overthinking. It has a similar vibe to their song “Chk Chk Boom” with its Latin-style beat, but it is calmer. It certainly delivers its message when listening to the song.
“DIVINE”
The second title track, “DIVINE,” is extremely divine. It’s a combination of hip-hop, R&B, jazzy and Korean elements, which Stray Kids describe as “new pop” that showcases their experimental sound. The intro of the song says, “All we need is love, dreams and Stray Kids,” adding a touch of Stray Kids’ signature boldness. The first verse opens with a “hm” sung by Seungmin, which immediately hooked me in, along with the chorus “This that new pop / We make it right, we make it right,” which directly addresses their experimental approach to music and style. When it alternates between rap and vocals, it showcases the track’s incredible layering and energy. The seamless blend of elements creates an enjoyable and replayable listening experience.
“Holiday”
“Holiday” offers a different perspective, focusing on the need for a break. In contrast to “Do It,” which means to act, “Holiday” talks about being overwhelmed and needing a break, with lyrics like “Hm, yeah, I’m sick and tired as I’ma need a holiday / Need a holiday, need a holiday / I’ve been working hard, no cap, yeah, just let me take a break.” It really captures a universal feeling of burnout, making it easy for many, even Stray Kids, to connect to the song.
“Photobook”
“Photobook” is a more emotional track. The lyrics capture feelings of longing and love, accepting the past, knowing that while they wish to go back, the moment will stay with them forever. Just like a photobook, flipping through each page brings a bittersweet nostalgic reflection on memories. It’s a beautiful ballad, very heartfelt and could make you cry.
“Do It (Festival Version)”
More fast-paced, upbeat version of “Do It,” making it feel like listeners are at a live music festival. It’s a more chaotic, energetic rendition that inspires getting up and dancing, which goes along with the album’s theme.
