Emily Anna Fox, 22, of Santa Barbara, Calif., died on Jan. 17. She was born on April 23, 1993.
Fox grew up in Santa Barbara, Calif., where she attended Foothill Elementary School, La Colina Junior High and graduated from Dos Pueblos High School in 2012.
Fox was an All-Channel League golfer and, during Fox’s four years at Dos Pueblos, she helped lead the girls golf team to league championships each year. In addition to Fox’s passion for golf was her love for photography. Her talent was recognized by Dos Pueblos with a distinction award during her senior year.
After high school, Fox attended Santa Barbara City College where she was successful enough that she was awarded a scholarship to attend CSUN. With only one semester left to complete, Fox was pursuing a degree in sociology.
Fox is survived by her mom Lynn, dad Steven and sister Sarah Fox.
A memorial celebrating Fox’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 30, at Dos Pueblos High School in the Performing Arts Center.
“We would love to fill up the entire auditorium, so please bring yourself and anyone who wants to celebrate Emily’s life,” her sister wrote on Facebook. “Please wear whatever you want, this is a celebration of life. Bring your love and your stories, we want to hear all about Emily’s life.”
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Fox’s name to the Santa Barbara Scholarship Foundation.
