CSUN is holding its 16th annual High School Art Invitational event that will feature art pieces from students and teachers over 30 schools throughout the San Fernando Valley.
This is a great opportunity for art enthusiasts to come and visit the gallery to admire the art work of these high school students and teachers. The exhibition is showcasing the student’s art work in the main gallery, each art piece that is on display was selected by members of the High school’s art faculty.
To go along with the student’s exhibition, their teachers also had the opportunity to share their art skills. Both teachers and students were required to follow the same guidelines as their students. The teacher’s art work was selected by other teachers within their school and will be located in the smaller gallery next to the main entrance.
Every art piece has it’s unique story, inspiration, message and form of creativity captured by the students who’ve turned in their individualistic creations to share with the world. These pieces consist of different types of art mediums from paint, pencil, mix media to video animation, which includes different categories of art from modern techniques to classic inspired Vincent Van Gogh paint strokes.
The Art & Design center will be holding a closing reception in the Main gallery, Friday, January 25, 2013 from 7p.m. to 9pm. You will have the opportunity to meet the artist of the showcased art pieces and enjoy their company.
The exhibition will be open until Saturaday, January 26th, the gallery is open to public from Monday – Saturday 12- 4pm and Thursdays 12-8pm. Everyone is invited to attend, there will be food and refreshments, admission is free and donations are always welcomed.
