Students performed their favorite songs at Karaoke night in the USU game room Thursday as they tried to win a $25 gift card.
Jerome Ames, sophomore psychology major, attended Karaoke night for the second time and saw the event being advertised at the Student Recreation Center where he works.
“I’ve been singing for quite a while with my friends just for fun. It’s just a hobby I do on the side while going to school,” Ames said.
Thursday was the second karaoke night of the semester in the games room and about 27 people came to sing and dance on stage.
James Manlapaz, 20, mechanical engineering major, went to the event to meet new people who enjoy singing.
“I come (to) every other event. I participate but it’s just for fun,” said Manlapaz.
The winners at Karaoke night were Ames and Brian Rivera, 20, health administration major. Both split the $25 grand prize.
The next karaoke night will be on March 21.
