Journalist, multimedia storyteller and activist, Jose Antonio Vargas will be speaking Tuesday as part of a “Define American” campaign.
Vargas came out as an undocumented immigrant in 2011 and started the “Define American” campaign, which aims to expand the conversation surrounding immigration.
The “Define American” campaign asks American citizens to aid undocumented immigrants that the immigration system does not provide.
Vargas spoke in front of a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on immigration reform Feb. 13. He talked about being the first undocumented journalist and his story as well as those that have supported him along the way.
The event takes place in the USU Northridge Center at 4 p.m.
